Its your 7 month birthday! What are you going to do?

Happy birthday to me! la la la la wee hee!
Well I am 7 months old today and and trying to think of new ways to scare the parents. I decided I would really work on my furniture walking. It seems to really scare mommy. Something about not being ready yet... Parents.

We also went over to a new friends house. It was lots of fun and I'm not just talking about hte new toys to play with.

Oh yeah, and this is me with the new baby gate. Mom keeps muttering something about copyright infridgement with a photo from Henry... but I don't know what that is so... well.. mopthing else really.

Rattlesnake hunting!

Well not really. My class went to Miss Lucy's Turtle Farm (I think its actually just called the Turtle Farm!).
This place was so cool! There were all these animals, Llamas and Emus and goats and deer. Then there was the area where we got to hold some and I got to hold a baby duck and see one just hatching from an egg. There was Rose the tarantula and the milk snake and dragon and baby alligator and then we got to feed the animals and there was funning around and the tee-pee (where you don't pee) but there was a map turtle named roscoe and a bunny and ... well you get the idea.

Awesomeness thy name is Sloan!...

Awesomeness thy name is Sloan!... and Evie is training to be chok full of the awesome as well. (the management)

Yeah so I thought I'd give the folks a break and be really great. I have created at least two new versions of parcheesi (okay most involve the animals doing roller skating and cage fighting... but its fun.
Had a good day, helped mom with morning pancakes and feeding Evie and it was lots of fun.

I was coasting on the cuteness. I think my teeth are acting up! So I chewed on a bagel... and the cat. But I got to hang out with my buddy Zach today while mom chatted with his dad. We had fun. I learned to roll a ball back and forth. Well, zach would roll the ball to me and I'd cleverly deflect it so he had to run. Fun game.

Tis the month to novel!

Well, my mom is once again doing this thing called National Novel Writing Month (nanowrimo.org). Well she thought that since I have been making up stories to tell her and daddy and Evie that maybe I would like to do one (for nanowrimo that is).
It is about a mailman... but mostly about a dinosaur... well...

So here is some of my story as typed by mommy (actually its 3 seperate stories). I am very proud of them.

The First story

First you have got to create the earth. I’ve created something. A different dinosaur. Tada!

ONe day a pterodactyl flied over the wings in search of...

There’s a pliesiasour... and a t-rex. A meaty te-rex

ROAr roar groar!

The End

The second story

Their coming out of the volcano (T-rex) coming out he watched and said tada!

Mailman T-rex super hero! rescues by delivering your three pieces of mail.

The Third Story

The T-Rex

One day there was a TREX and some crazy animals (argh rarr). They find meat. What do tigers like to ear? they like to eat camels. They line up in a line and when the bull gets to the elephants they fight.

ARgh. Rar

We like the camels!

Evil Voice “we like the elephants ahh hahahahah

Look they line up in a long bowl and “LOOK OUT” Oh Wooo a big meatball! Wow oh my god! My god

Its a big meatball, oh look its a big meat ball

Teach the race game, but the elephants are gonna win cause look they have roller skates!

The camels stand on their line and “wait we’re missing one more bull” comes from the other team.

“Wait, don’t get about the tigers” he said, “don’t get bout the tigers mommy. Don’t get about the tigers I said

“We’re ready to roller skate. Your ready to roller skate!”

“Wow, look at em.” he says “Vroom” “They are gonna win the race!”

“The tigers adn the camels - though those ones, not the squishy ones”

“We won we won!” they cheered. “Theyre not gonna won the fat one. their not gonna...” they trailed off. “They look there’s the next race!”

“this was live coverage from the roller rama parcheesi stadium and we gotta watch a movie. And look the animals they jump, they jump into this race, into this medium into this bag.... one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen fourteen sixteen seventeen.

What dice do we have can you count them one two?

In search of...

So after school, I thought it would be fun if we went for a hike. So mommy bundled up Evie and I and we went to Waterford Oaks (a local park). Now one would think that a park that says it has lots of paths would be nice and fun.

Instead it became an adventure.
We were in search of a good path to explore, one we had not gone on before.
What we found:
leaves... lots of leaves
rocks
the BMX trail
the swimming pool
water slide
constructon workers
play area under construction
cold hands
more leaves
picnic tables
canadian geese
a goat (well actually no)

what we did not find:
a path

so we are still left with only knowing one path in this park. We shall try again another day, when mommy stops muttering to herself.

Life as Art: A Critique

I have been listening to Mommy and Daddy talk about art for a while now. I was intrigued enough to do some study on my own and had come to a conclusion.
The big day arrived and I was ready to join the discussion.

"Dada."

What I meant was that modern life, as viewed through the eyes of the classical painters, would be so alien as to render our current existence indistinguishable from the Dadaist movement of the past century.

My parents took this as my attempts to say Daddy's name.

That works too.

Quick Halloween pics-for the grandparents

So it was a bit easier to get a good photo of Evie than Sloan...but we'll work on it. We'll get some good ones up after Halloween - cheers the management

Hiking

Hiking, hiking, wanted to do some hiking. Mom decided to prove it was not cold outside so we all went hiking at Waterford Oaks.

It was lots of fun. I even found this cool stick that I was pretending was a video camera (complete with tripod). Dad and I were trying to find good sites to put a new geocaching site.

Then we found out that they they close the gate at 3:30 and it was 3:28.

Vital Stats!

Well, I had my 6 month appointment today (or rather wed). And am doing very well. Of course, I knew this, but its always important to get others agreeing. Here is the vital info:
Height: 27 1/4 inches tall
Weight: 16 lb 9 oz

So I am all that. :)

Our Man Sloan

So I convinced mom and dad to take me to the big D's today after class. Met up with some of my friends from class. Had a great time playing with the other kids, though it didn't take long for some of the kids to get really distracted by Evie crawling around.

But mom and dad were laughing when I ended up in the space pod with 3 girls. Started trying to figure out if it was more a James Bond moment or a Flint moment. Flint won out as he usually had more women.

Ganging up

Well its been a few days and Sloan and I (and the cats) have been ganging up on mom and dad. First it was my diaper and one of the cats (leaving a gift) at the same time that mom was just trying to make lunch for sloan.

Then of course there was my timing complaints to coincide with Evie's crying fits. But then there has also been lots of sword fighting with mom and helping to direct the halloween decorating, so its been nice and busy for us.

All Done!

Mommy, and Jubba (with some help from daddy) finished up the painting of the basement this afternoon! Apparenty mom is hoping to go through all the stuff this week while Evie and I play downstairs.

I have been keeping daddy energy level up running him around and challenging his authority. But after my nose bleeding at the park we decided to come play at home.

Now Daddy and Evie and I are working on building a dinosaur museum out of blocks.

6th months today!

Happy 6th month day to me!
Sloan even sang to me today (inbetween punishments) it was a challenging day today apparently.

Well Jubba came down today to help mommy in the basement. Something about cleaning and painting the whole thing so Sloan and I can play down there.
Though Sloan thinks its so mom and dad have more room for their halloween party.

A little rain never hurt nature

It was a fun field trip of my preschool class. We went to Independence Oaks. While class didn't do the hiking trip (due to the massive rain) mom and Evie and I took a nice hike after class.

But there was a really cool puppet show talking about fall and then we got to do a new project and there was also time to play with all their displays and see a salamander and.. well it was really cool!

Puppets! So cool. Ohh and a rainy walk.

Welcome monday!

Gosh its great to be back to a relaxed week day. This weekend was a series of playing, chores and visits. There was breakfast out and grocery shopping / chores with dad. Then lots of playing...and that was just saturday!

Sunday was lots of driving as we went to visit grandma and jubba and mom's uncle red and sandra. Lots of fun was had by all, but Sloan got worn out being so exciting and playful and I got very tired displaying my crawling skills and cuteness. Well, it was well worth it.

Early morning photo shoot

So mom and dad were bored before work... and decided a quick photo shoot.
Here are some of the results.

This week sponsored by "B"

Well yesterday was show and tell at school and needed something beginning with B. I thought of that drum thingy of mom's (she assures me its a Bodhran with a B... but I'm not so sure). Then there was a bat, a ball, a bear and finally (what I came up with and took).

BONES...Dino bones!

It was a big hit (if I do say so myself).

Cooking

Since it was cold and rainy mom and I thought we'd better do some baking. Besides we had this nice pile of fresh apples just begging to be a pie. So 2 apple pies, 1 batch of chocolate cupcakes and 1 batch of peanut butter cookies I think we did pretty well.

This week I need to figure out something starting with "B" to take for show n tell...

fall frollicking!

Mom is so excited about it being fall that it has been very difficult for Sloan and I to get her to sit down & write a blog. This weekend we had a great time hanging out on saturday at the Yates Cider Mill. It was fun, we got to hang out with Sloan's friend Genevieve and her mom and Mom and Dad's friends Mr. Gary (or the Bratzel as Sloan calls him) and Mr. Russ and Mr. Trevor. (Who did a wonderful job corralling both my brother and his friend. actually they all did).

Lots of fun with donuts and cider and there was this band wearing lots of fur and with instruments... loud but cool.

Fife and drum core, that's what Evie means by the lots of fur comment. Mom got some fun video but she needs to finalize the disk. Genevieve and I had lots of fun running up and down the river path.

But mostly we enjoyed the donuts!

Time for Tea?

Grandma and Jubba stopped by today and gave me a wonderful new table.
I have been testing it out with tea parties. Anthony and Princess have been having a good time having tea with me.

We had a lovely walk this afternoon (mom needed to take care of some friends cats) so off we went for a nice walk and a stop at the playground for a good workout.

A is for Apple

Apples and donuts and Cider -my Class went on a field trip to the Spicer's Orchard mill. I got to play on the new pipe tunnels and the large pile of dirt (might sound weird to you grown ups but the kids love it).

Since mom had Evie with her she couldn't go on the hayride with me so I had to trust she'd be okay without me. Mister Bob made sure I kept out of trouble.
We picked McKintosh today, wonderfully tasty.
We had a great day ... well morning.

The Orchard was fun, I got to hang out with my friend Emerson and we watched our mom's quality control some donuts. Sadly mom got bit by something and Sloan ended up scrapping his leg really well. But all told, a great time.

Exciting biking

An exciting time was had this morning as we biked up the driveway to school the chain broke on mom's bike. Well, at least it broke as we got to school, I am fairly sure that there would have been some bad words said if it had broken earlier on the trip.

Well, I had a great day at school! We continued our week of "A's", there were apples and an apple tree and well...you get the idea.

Well, since Sloan was at school its up to me to continue the story. Luckily mom's friend was able to come pick us up and help us out till one of dad's friends (with a much bigger car) could get the bike back home. That is the problem with having the xtracycle added on - its too big for the normal car. Well, off to go to sleep.

Today is brought to you by the letter...

A
A is for Accordian
...and lots of other stuff which isn't nearly as cool because I didn't bring it to school... Ooh a muffin!

When teething rings aren't enough...

I've found that sometimes when my teeth REALLY hurt that I don't enjoy the teething rings. So I've been looking for other things to chew on... books, my front carrying pack, dad's fingers. Then I found the best thing...
Anu! (as dad says, "it makes my mouth feel all fuzzy!). She will lay down near me so I crawl over and grab on. She doesn't seem to mind... I don't know why my parents do.

Thursday, September 17, 2009

Roar!

Well, mom had to be convinced to bike this morning. She actually contemplated using the car. I set her straight, if you let your adults slack its just work work work.

Its been a fun week of dinosaurs at school.
There was making a dino in an egg and making a picture of dinosaurs. Then we decorated hats with dinosaurs and today we made a dinosaur skeleton - the WHOLE class together and then there was singing and ...

Bones, bones, dinosaur bones..

La la la de daa bones...

Okay, one knee before the other.

Crawling, crawling... whoo hoo, I think I've got it now!
It is such a wonderful feeling being able to crawl.
Now if only I can... get... my... legs up... almost standing...
oops... guess I'll stick with crawling for now.

Darn Squirrels!-an excerpt from Mom

Well biking Sloan to school on Tuesday I had a revelation.
Squirrels are suicidal!
I would say stupid - but that would indicate that they were just too silly to realize they should get out of a bikers way. Instead these ones kept running in the way of the bike.
The only issue is that while a car can take out a squirrel, I fear the squirrel -if hit by the bike- will take out the bike!

Okay, back to the kids.

School!

Well the first day of the school year is here!
So Mom and Evie and I biked down -gosh I forgot how bumpy that road is!
But so much fun seeing my favorite teachers again and lots of the kids from last years class were there again and I got to play dinosaurs and super heroes and went outside and ...well we had lots of fun!

Hm, Sloan certainly was excited about school. It looked pretty interesting, and I got to see another baby like myself (only 9 months) I remember meeting her shortly after I was born. Emmy is the sister of a friend of Sloan's and it sure was nice to see her after so long.

After mom and I dropped Sloan off, we biked over to see a friend of moms. That was fun, I got to watch transformers and meet Zach. Then it was back to pick him up and the bike started having issues... well I had a good trip, though I think mom needed a nap by the time we got home. Oops, off to get lost under the couch

Its all about balance!

Ah, sometimes its important to make sure that dad keeps up on his training. So Evie and I took it upon ourselves to make sure he keeps in shape. With some attacking and wrestling, maybe some airplanes?...

Fun with Dad and mom

So we went down to arts, beats and eats with Daddy. (He's been working alot and its important to get him out of the house any chance I can get). So since Arts, Beats and Eats was in town, I took him down to that. We had a good time listening to music and running around in circles and then we saw some art (and I ran around in circles) ... Okay truly I was just interested in the balloons and well, running around. Anyway you get the idea. It was lots of fun!

So since Sloan agreed to take care of Daddy, it was up to me to take care of Mommy. I went with her down to Ypsilanti for a baby shower for a friend of ours. I got to have a good time hanging out with some of mommy's friends and my friend Elinor and I had a great time. Its been a while since we'd seen each other so we caught up on the babble and switched toys... it was fun.

Dinos dinos where are the dinos?

Well, I've taken mom to the zoo a few times the last week - well the dinosaur exhibit was getting ready to leave and I had to show them off to folks and (of course) roar a bunch!

In fact, mom was laughing at me cause I started going up to folks and introducing them to the dinosaurs. Of course I also had to point out the different types of roars of each dino.

Dinosaurs.. roar! ROAR! hee hee

Fluffy Anu! Doomed Anu

Exciting morning. Laying in bed with mommy I used the covers to pull myself to a sitting position and then this white fluffy thing wondered by (mommy called it anu-whatever that means) and I reached out and touched her. That fur stuff is really nice to touch. I tried to grab it, but the anu was too fast for me (still just don't have that much control I guess).

Mommy was sad that she couldn't get a photo of us (anu and I) looking at each other.

Of to get myself wedged under the couch (again).

Breakfast!

I got to help make chocolate pancakes today! And I was a wonderful help (honest mommy said so).
I got to add the chocolate chips, and stir and even put the batter on the griddle. Then I added the chocolate syrup when they were done. I even did some really cool designs with the batter. Not just boring old circles.

So we were out of duck tape!

So we wanted to go for a bike ride the other day (we hadn't been to the bagel shop in ages) so I thought it would be a wonderful excuse to try out riding on the surfboard portion of the bike. (I have been longing to try this out, but mom hasn't had a chance to build my new bike seat yet.

Daddy solved that problem... there was a strap, a bike helmet and a goal. I think Evelyn also enjoyed not having to share the bike trailer. (I know I enjoyed the roominess of the surfdeck.

Familial fun!

Well its been (most of) a week of family fun. What with Jubba and Grandma hosting. Uncle Nick and cousin Aria travelling through the wilds of the UP to visit. Tio Chris and his girlfriend (Tia) Lorena travelled in from San Francisco (that and the annual take Jubba to Cedar Point trip) were a good excuse to get together. Mom was excited as its the first time all the kids have been together in ages. Sadly daddy and Aunt Julie couldn't make it do to work ... but we got close.

Evelyn and I did a good job of tormenting Grandma on thursday (while she was babysitting us) I was aiming to get her drinking by the end of the day.... she took a nap. Close enough.

Crazy week had by all

Wow a busy week Evie and I had, what with the visiting and the temper throwing and the playing with cousin Aria.

Yeah I had to give grandma a couple of rough nights so she would better like my cuteness. Sloan and I worked out a system so when I was not throwing up or screaming... he was. It worked pretty well.

But it was great to see everyone, Tio Chris and to meet Tia Lorena (she's very nice, I hope she keeps him). Uncle Nick and Cousin Aria came down to play and we all had lots of fun. Mostly the adults seemed to watch Aria and I play and make a mess - it amused them and periodically frustrated them... so our job was done well.

Mom says she will post pics soon, but they are on the camera that is not easily downloadable.

Happy apple, cat, toys that go rattle, new quilts to play on and new people to use my cuteness upon.

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

You listen to this?

So I had wandered down with Tio Chris and Jubba and Mommy to the local coffee shop to do a little work. Okay Tio Chris was doing some work, I was just making sure everyone was having fun.

Gotta go now, my Chai is ready!

Tio Chris and Jubba

Well Evie is currently sleeping so I thought I would do our post for today. Evie and I have travelled up to Grandma and Jubba's house to show off my Tio Chris. He's in for a few days visiting and I'm doing everything I can to make sure he is run out so he'll sleep well at night.

So far there has been pillow fighting, wrestling (I totally bit his butt!) Then there were some donuts and we walked him down to the local coffee shop for some much needed chai... oops gotta go, time to entertain the other customers by trying to climb the outer wall backwards.

With a flip and a bounce...

Sadly my last class in gymnastics was today. I had a lot of fun with my friends and Coach Derek. I don't know what I'll do the next few monday's before school starts again?

I'm thinking playdates!

Happy Birthday!... again?

Wow! the week of birthdays. First my friend Genevieve's, then my friend Emily's circus party. We had a great time, there were prizes and a fun castle cake with ice cream cone towers and this thingy that you hang up and hit and its got candy and daddy stayed inside for that part. I wonder why?

I'm not sure about the cake and games... but I looked wonderful and it was lots of fun meeting other people and its always fun to be adored. So I mostly napped and looked good, with periodic winning grin and giggles - just to keep my audience amused.

Thunderbirds are GO!

I had a great day with Daddy and Mr. Mike (aka Freon) today as we hunted the wild airplanes at Selfridge Air National Guard Base where they had an airshow.

I got to go in a helicopter, and there were these really loud planes doing tricks. Then there were lots of airplanes to go through (one had a bejeweled game that I got to play!) And there was a woman who walked on a wing of an airplane...that person was crazy!

I left Evie at home with mommy, I just don't she's old enough to appreciate all that technology. Apparently she got bored and made mommy strip paint.

A friday -by Evie

I eat
Sloan dances around me as I giggle
Then I kicked Mommy and Sloan out of the house to go play with his friend Genevieve while I kept daddy in line. I mean if he's going to work at home I think it's important that someone keep an eye on him (and between naps and rolling practice I did that).

I am happy with my rolling practice and also feel that my crawling technique is coming along nicely.

Pool party and Frogs

Yeah I have to go help Mommy buy a present for my friend Genevieve, its her birthday party today! (Her birthday was actually yesterday -so mom tells me. I don't believe it, I think what ever day has the party and cake is her birthday). I'm hoping my birthday is tomorrow!

Well, I made mommy go to two different stores to find Genevieve some frogs (which she likes) I kept wanting to get a dinosaur... its kind of the same. But mommy said she really wants a frog so there you go.

There were lots of kids to play with, and pool noodles to use as swords and then there was my being a dragon and the girls all decided to be princesses and the other two boys decided they wanted to be dinos and then there was cake and more playing and then I wanted to play princess's... but it was time to go home.

So once home I played dragon knight with daddy.

Lambs, Dowds and Kramps OH MY!

Yeah play date!
It started with my trying to get together with my buddy Robbie. Then I found out he was getting together with my friends Jack and Lily... it went on from there.

Suddenly we're all down at Jack and Lily's house, there are legos being pressed into really cool shapes and battles of robots... then there was some adventures in the large playhouse. While I like playing with Evie, It was really great fun to get a chance to play with my friends. The only thing that would have been more fun is if Zander was there too (but mom wasn't quite that on top of it). Next time...

Baby stats

So the official 4 month numbers are in!
I weight 14 lbs 11 oz
25 1/4 " (something like that either 1/4 or 1/2 mom couldn't remember, on account of having both Sloan and myself at my appt and Sloan was in rare form to keep Mom and the Dr on their toes!)

I think the head circum was 17"

Got some shots... VERY annoying!
But got a nice clean bill of health. In other words... I am awesome!

oops, off for now

Tuesday, August 11, 2009

How much Sloan does it take to send mom over the edge?

1. 2 potty incidents
in my favor I cleaned up after myself!
Funny tidbit... been reading the potty book the last few days.

2. Convincing sick mom to take me to indoor play area only to have a HUGE/EPIC tantrum the likes of which got me sent back home.

3. gas light come on 3 miles from home

4. Evie and I work out a system to make sure the volume of the house was at max for a good hour.

after that, I had a fun time playing outside and trying to get downstairs... Just to keep mom on her toes. After all, I have so much to teach Evie in so little time.

4 month old or immigrant woman?

It was warm, Mom had forgotten my hat. There was a bandana and it worked. I'm not sure about the look though...

But perhaps this one with lots of lovely ladies will help with deciding...

4 months and counting!

Yesterday I turned 4 months old. Wow things are getting exciting now - what with starting real food (just rice cereal) and now and then trying to keep my big bro out of trouble...

Now I have to go find sloan and see if he'll help me get mom to download some new photos. Maybe if we tag team we'll have a good chance.

a Tuesday adventure

So many things to do this morning.
First I had to get Mom and Evie off to the Farmer's Market. It was time to buy some nice veggies. Here you see me sampling the local goods.

I've gotta say, the carrots were marvelous and the corn pretty good. Though I have to say that I'm just not sure the green beans were so good. Though I didn't get a chance to really try them.

Then we had some lunch and mom got this great shot of the bike all loaded up!

Then we stopped for a bit of goodness at Big Apple Bagel shop.
Then off for lots of other errands - the park and playing.

A tough day for Evie and me, but we got through it.
